“The Liberator Wedge/Ramp Combo is one of the better purchases I have made in regards to my sex life. I will admit, I was very, very skeptical about the Liberator products and didn’t know if they were going to really be much more than glorified pillows. Regardless, I bought them anyway because I felt I needed to experience what Liberator fans rave about. My need to the ramp/wedge combo came out of a couple of problems. First off, my partner tends to like the fold me in half when he’s on top of me and this has pulled muscles in my back more than once. I finally told him we had to stop before I damaged my back badly enough to warrant a doctor’s visit. Another reason is that during rear-entry (doggie style) sex he likes to push down on my lower back causing a lot of strain on my spinal cord, which we all know is not a good idea for your back. So Liberator came to save the day and save my back. If you order the Wedge/Ramp Combo you will have no problem identifying what the mailman has delivered when you see it outside your door. My box was big enough to fit me in it. I could have mailed myself. I think this is a matter that all Liberator lovers know and laugh about. I even took pictures and am going to post them to my blog. When taken out of the box the first thing I noticed about the wedge/ramp combo is how soft the microfiber cover is. It reminds me of the velvet dresses I had as a child, which is a good thing. The softness does not decrease after washing the covers. Underneath the microfiber covers there are nylon water-resistant covers. I would advise against taking this cover off. You would be just as good to wipe it down with a dampened cloth if you feel it’s needed. The microfiber covers can be thrown in the washer and dryer with the rest of your clothes. The pieces themselves are made out of what Liberator calls “champagne foam,” which to me seems like a cross between a hard foam and a soft memory foam mattress. It’s perfect for its intended use as it’s not so hard as to be uncomfortable, but it doesn’t give enough to lose its shape and thus its function under the weight of a body or two. Since getting the ramp/wedge I’ve used both pieces in multiple ways. The first thing I noticed is that these pieces can be easily used outside of a bedroom setting. One of my favorite ways to use the wedge outside of the bedroom is as a leg rest. For example, right now I’m sitting on the couch writing this review with both of my thighs resting up and over the wedge. It’s incredibly comfortable and also provides a good angle to use your laptop or write at. The ramp I find to be too big to use outside of the bedroom, but you may find some awesome uses for it. As far as their intended purpose, the ramp and wedge both excel. They allow me to bend my legs back further over my head during missionary, allow me to have support and comfort during rear-entry sex, and also do crazy things like allow me to almost be completely vertical in the air (headstand-like from the shoulder blades up) with my partner holding my legs and entering me while standing up. I would also like to stress that both of us are highly inflexible. He’s not flexible in general and I am not flexible because of my mild cerebral palsy. Therefore, these pieces would really help people with mobility issues or people who just are plain inflexible like me. When put together, the pieces stick to each other quite well and don’t slip much. Because of this, I like to use the ramp and wedge both for most positions. I either lay on the ramp and use the wedge as a pillow (on my back) of lay on the ramp and use the wedge as an armrest (on my stomach). These are probably my two favorite ways to use the ramp and wedge. My partner also used the ramp alone while lying on his back for girl on top positions and I found the ramp was great to brace myself against and use for balance. He also enjoyed using the wedge and ramp together on his back for anal penetration.”

“My beautiful dark blue pillows arrived in their large box, wrapped in plastic and already in their black protective carry cases. In the box was also a thin A5 position booklet and a DVD of the Kama Sutra positions achievable with Liberator shapes and furniture featuring Liberator’s spokesmodel Jaiya. There was also a small booklet outlining the washing/care instructions for the pillows and cases. We are recommended to wash on delicate immediately after receiving them while tumble drying on low. It considerably reduces the initial static feel of the fabric. After washing, the fabric is soft and comfortable. The pillows are very firm and supporting, yet comfortable. I’m really loving all of the variety these shapes are giving us. I was a little worried that I would forget about using them, but that doesn’t seem to have happened. And there is still more to explore. I’m a big fan of doggy style and these two products make it feel a whole lot more sensual. Doggy style is achievable in three different combinations:
1) Laying over the Wedge’s right angle
2) Laying over the Ramp’s right angle
3) With the Wedge on top of the Ramp, both with right angle facing upward and laying over the Wedge with the torso supported by the Ramp.
Actually, all positions in the doggy style make me feel great. Using either one at a time gives my partner access to my breasts, while position (2) is probably the most sensuous, making me feel very relaxed and supported. Positions (2) and (3) also make a great position to receive a back rub. In my experience the right angle facing upward creates more stability, and in these positions is also the way that Liberator shows these particular positions. The Wedge Ramp combo can be used together to angle a male partner's head or torso upwards while the knees are supported. This can be used in positions such as cowgirl and reverse cowgirl. I am actually a fan of a reverse cowgirl where the woman lays backwards into the man with the Ramp behind him and with legs supported by the Wedge. I feel sure that this would not have been nearly so comfortable for either of us without the shapes. I’m also really looking forward to trying one position called the ‘seventh posture’ which also uses both shapes at the same time. It is a man on top position that lets the woman ‘get a leg up’. (Demo is available on the Liberator website and the instructional DVD). One position that my partner and I enjoy from a romantic standpoint is for me to sit on his lap while his legs are hanging over the edge of the bed. I call it "sitting up-y sex", but I don't know what the position is really called. It’s similar to the Yab Yum position in Tantra. In one of the freestyle sessions on the DVD it was demonstrated that the Wedge could be used to give support to the woman’s feet in this position. Without the Wedge this position gives me very little to no control over my own movement which can make this very intimate position very uncomfortable and disappointing. With the Wedge placed so that the decline was away from me and the shortest edge against my partner’s back, this changed dramatically. I could use my legs to move myself quite easily and I could control the depth that my boyfriend could penetrate me and avoid my cervix being bumped. If we leaned away from each other my partner was able to stimulate my clitoris with his hands. I would have bought it just for this if I had known how effective it would be. It is certainly true that the Wedge can add depth to the penetration in the man on top positions. Being someone who often gets a good cervix bumping even without the Shapes, I’m probably not the best qualified person to comment on the pleasurable aspects of deeper penetration. However “The wife of Indra”, which is demonstrated on the DVD provided (and on the Liberator website), is a position where the man is on top and the woman has the Wedge elevating her hips. The woman’s feet are placed on the partner’s chest. This is supposed to give the control for depth of penetration to the woman. This is something I will be attempting to master to get some pain free g-spot stimulation just as soon as I get some courage back up again. It has real potential to work for me if I learn to stick to my comfortable limits. I should also mention that one of the major advantages of the Wedge is said to be positioning for cunnilingus, but we haven’t yet tried this out. Sometimes I lay on them to watch tele in bed :-) Okay so they do collect a bit of dust, but I should probably be storing them in their covers between uses instead of dumping them by the side of the bed :-P . It doesn’t noticeably affect the appearance of the Shapes though. I have confidence that the microfiber will repel staining though I haven’t yet had an urgent need to wash off spills. When watching the DVD I saw a position that looked very interesting, but that looks as though it will not have the capability to work with a bed so low as mine, which was a bit disappointing. If you consider your bed to be very high, or you and your partner are on the shorter side it might have a great potential. I could not find this video on the Liberator website. The man penetrates the woman while standing, while the woman’s legs are wrapped around him. Her back is supported by the Ramp with her hips angled downward. This is achieved by placing the Ramp so that the acute (skinniest) angle is at the edge. Unfortunately the bed we are using is just a bit too low for this. On the video Jaiya was able to boost her Wedge and Ramp with the Liberator Stage for the extra height required. I really don’t think you can go wrong for the two of these. I will reiterate what many have said before me. They are not ‘just pillows’. Pillows really don’t work the same way. The Wedge and Ramp are made of beautiful firm yet luxurious and comfortable foam. They really do make sex more fun, especially so when we worked out a couple of “go to” positions; Then sex becomes more spontaneous again. It certainly makes trying a new position a lot more manageable and fun (instead of thinking the whole time about how much more comfortable your old position was, counting the seconds to when you will suggest changing back again, and wondering why it was that you wanted to try something different). I don’t know whether it’s the comfort factor or what, but they really make me feel sexier too. I’m already thinking about ways to use them with other toys and I’m really looking forward to writing a follow up review .”

“For years I'd see the advertisements for the Liberator in the back of my fashion magazines. I was always curious if the product was as good as it claimed to be. I went searching online about a year ago to see if there were any reviews and all I found was Liberator's website, tooting their own horn. “Wow! If you're like us and want to have sex anywhere, the Liberator combo was made for YOU! It makes having sex on the floor THAT much easier. I'm not particularly fond of fucking on the floor but my husband seems to have a fancy for it.
